Yay I could game, for half an hour and crash. So yet again more time installing updates.

So I ran my manufacturers update and what would you know 6 updated drivers including the one throwing up the error. A quick search mentioned drivers or battery. So this time I looke at the event viewer and when it crashed it stated "Intel Dynamic Platform and thermal framework error". So as you can imagine last night I was looking forward to getting my game on. And I managed to run my game for about ten minutes untill it was time to go to sleep. Wednesday night I spent the evening updating and installing Windows drivers to all the latest builds.

So I searched for and found my display drivers from the Geoforce website, and through device manager I uninstalled the graphics card completely and tried to install the new drivers, but it would get so far and then state that my version of Windows didn't support this driver. So I looked at Device Manager and the graphics card (Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060) had an error and stated that it had stopped working. Tuesday night I loaded the laptop and played the game fine for an hour and then the same crash. It was getting late so I just turned the Laptop of and went to bed. Then about an hour later it happened again. It displayed some weird fuzz in the screen. I was playing Minecraft (DDSS modpack) and the game crashed. So, since (I think) Monday night I have been experiencing issues with my laptop.

Current NVIDIA accelerated driver was activated. Then I opened system settings, additional drivers, and searched. I also was able to run the updates (387 of them). Then I was able to go to Ubuntu Software Center and get nvidia current (wow, a lot of bad reviews). So at that point I rebooted and selected recovery mode and then chose fail safe graphics option. Complete the installation and you should be good to go.ĭon't know, mine installed then I was back at the test drive and couldn't make permanent changes.
I didn't see those options, so after it installed it went back to the test drive.įor Alternate install: After base packages are installed (before grub install), open a prompt (ALT+F2) and "chroot /target", then "apt-get install nvidia-current", "CTRL+D" to exit chroot, "ALT+F1" to resume install. When installed I checked "install updates during install" and "install third party software" (or something like that) after connected to my wireless network, and when the setup finished and I rebooted my computer, everything was working just fine, with NVidia drivers installed and Unity 3D working.
This was very helpful and worked for me too In the text that appeared on the screen, I changed quiet to noquiet, splash to nosplash, and added nomodeset right after nosplash. When the installation pops up, I clicked F6, then ESC.
